Reflections on the Summer 2011 Trip Part 2: John

Pasted Graphic 4

We arrived at the school at 3 in the morning to the cheers of 180 children screaming "Welcome Stonebridge!”  They were excited children who could not wait to meet us and greet us and touch and hug us and to express their love for us in untold ways awaited us over the days ahead.  It seemed that they could not get enough of us and i know that is the way we all felt.  What a joy it was to be with these, our Stonebridge children, for these many days and to see how the Lord is fashioning them and growing them in stature and wisdom and love.

On day two I had the privilege of sharing a message at my friend Pastor Ratnaker's church and afterward we marched to the lake where I was called upon to baptize six new believers.  What a joy and delight!  Then on Tuesday we had the privilege of attending a church dedication for Pastor Joseph.  It was an exciting day as his son rode back from the school with us to attend the festivities.  Little did we know that within a couple of weeks Rachel, Joseph's wife, would be stricken with Dengue fever and would go home to be with the Lord.  It is a different world than the one in which we live.  The needs are so great, yet their joy is so full.

This trip meant so much to me as our Lord showed me that indeed these are my brothers and sisters in Christ and I am called to walk along side them and be there in prayer and to support them any way I can. Thank you Jesus for such a calling and such a privilege.
